WELCOME: Julie Morris, Chair of Thamesview United Church Council, on behalf of the council and congregation, welcomed everyone and gave a brief history of Thamesview Church.  On July 1, 1968 the congregations of Bethel, Carlingford and Fullarton consolidate to form Thamesview United and chose to meet in the Fullerton locations, which overlooks the Thames River Valley.

WORSHIP:  Nancy Knowles, minister of Thamesview United led worship.  Worship began with singing Today We All Are Called and the message was based on 1 Corninthians 4:1,2 and James 1.  The theme for the meeting was Stewardship and the message was that we are to be servants and good stewards of the gifts we have been given.  Worship closed with everyone saying a prayer in unison and singing  ‘We give but Your own’.

Nancy Knowles introduced the guest speaker Kate Monk of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.  She spoke on the importance of soil and how we should all be good stewards and take care of this precious resource.

REPORTS:

RESOURCE CENTRE REPORT:  - submitted by Susan Campbell

Now available is the Feasting on the Word Advent Companion.  It comes with the 4 different preaching perspectives on the scriptures for each week, liturgy and prayers, children’s time suggestions and more for the four Sundays in Advent plus Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This will be of interest to anyone who will be preaching during the season of Advent.

Also, this is the time of year to pick up your Advent candles. To avoid disappointment please pick these up tonight or place your order for pickup at the next Presbytery meeting. I also have some beautiful Advent bulletin covers.

The Oxford Presbytery Christian Studies Team has compiled “Recipes of Worship”. These are 4 different services to use in your congregation and all you need is a leader with a Bible and a TV and DVD player. They include the service bulletin and everything you would need to complete the whole service. They are $20 each for one or $60 for all four. This could be great resource for any church needing to fill a Sunday morning service.

Lastly, I have my 60% off clearance bin, so stop by the book display or the store and see what treasurers you may discover.
